Customizations allow you to personalize select products, based on the options provided by the brand. Consider customizable products the next time you plan an event or you want to promote your company.
Customizable products
Products that offer customizations display a Customizable banner in the lower-right corner of the product’s main image. Target your search to only customizable products with the Product Gallery’s Customization filter.
Customization options
To configure a customizable product, select the product image and then click the Customize button. You can add one or more products to your cart at a time by selecting the cart icon in the Product Gallery or the Product Details page, and then configure the product by selecting the pencil icon for Customizations in the Working Order.
Each customizable product offers its own set of options set by the brand (examples: embroidering text on a backpack, specifying the color of a shirt and its collar, etc.). Required attributes are denoted with an * asterisk.
In the provided example, we can print an image to the front panel of a water bottle by:
- Choosing a print type (examples: digital or engraving).
- Uploading an image file (examples: logo or symbol).
- Selecting the number of print colors in the uploaded image (examples: one or two).
When choosing an image, select from the options in the available tabs, separated by company images and brand images. For brands that allow buyers to upload images, the accepted file type(s) are listed in the customization screen (examples: .ai, .eps, .pdf, .png, and .svg).
Note: Want to use the same image again? When you save a customized product with an uploaded image, then that image displays as a selectable option for other customizable products that offer images.
If the brand has set up a preview view, you can review the adjusted image of the customized product as you make selections. Select the magnifying glass to zoom in and out.
To cancel your configuration, select Cancel. Otherwise, when you’re ready to add the customized product to your order, select Save or Save and Apply Customization to more products.
- Save: With this save option, the Customization applies to the selected product, which you can then Add to Order.
- Save and Apply Customization to more products: If offered by the brand, use this save option to apply the Customization to more products. Select from the provided list of products, which have the same Customization template as the original product. If you choose a product that already has another Customization applied, then this Customization will override it. When you’re done, select Add to Order.
When saving a Customization, a prompt appears at the top of the screen if a required field is left blank (examples: missing text, image, or sleeve length).
Note: A prompt also appears if you submit an order with a product missing customization attributes.
Orders with customized products
Make adjustments to the Working Order as needed, including adding quantities to customized products. If the brand included specific pricing for the customization, then this price is listed in the Surcharges section.
Important Note: Order Export Templates do not support Customizations at this time, and importing a file into the Working Order will remove all customization configurations. Instead, configure the customizable product in the web app, and then apply it to other products as needed.
If you’d like to make customization changes before placing an order, navigate to the Products tab and select the product’s pencil icon to return to the customization modal.
If the brand offers two views in the Products tab:
- Line Items: Select the product’s pencil icon to return to the customization modal.
- Sizing View: Select Edit Customization to return to the customization modal. Learn more about this view with Sizing View in the Working Order.
When you’re done making changes to the customization options, select Save to return to the updated order.
For each customized product in the Working Order, you have the option to Apply Customization for more products. After selecting this option, choose from the provided list of products, which have the same Customization template as the original product. If you choose a product that already has another Customization applied, then this Customization will override it. When you’re done, select Apply.
Note: If enabled by the brand, you can order products with Customizations for orders shipping to multiple locations. Some brands may also choose to split orders by location, Customization type, or other scenarios.
After placing an order, you can view your selected customizations by going to Orders from the left navigation menu. If offered by the brand, use the Contains Customizable Products filter and enter a Customization Print Type to narrow your list of orders.
Select an order, and then click Customizations for that product to see the customization selections. Only the Customization selections made for that order are displayed. If you wish to review all of the available customizable options for that product, return to the Product Details page.
Reordering
You can reorder products with Customizations if those options are still available.
If the Customization template changed or is no longer available, you can reorder that product by either selecting new customizations (if available) or ordering the product without customizations.
