Brand admins can set up a watermark for product images by adding text and buyer-specific data attributes, then choosing the text color, background color, and opacity. This article explains how to set up a watermark and where it appears in the Product Details page, expanded images, and downloaded PDFs.

Overview
A watermark adds a layer of protection to product images. Add text, such as copyright information, and buyer-specific data attributes, such as a company name or company code. When you add buyer-specific data attributes, the watermark varies by buyer.

Set up watermarking
To display a watermark on product images, go to Brand Admin > Imagery & media > Watermarking.

Use the Active toggle to activate or deactivate watermarking.
The example image shows how the watermark appears on product images. NuORDER randomly selects the example image. You can’t replace it with another image.
Set up the watermark content with these options:
- Watermark text: Enter up to 25 characters to display on every watermark. For example, Copyright.
- Data attribute: Select an attribute to personalize the watermark for each buyer. Examples include Company name and Company code.
Add up to 3 items to each watermark using one of these combinations:
- Watermark text only.
- Watermark text and 1 or 2 Data attributes.
- 1, 2, or 3 Data attributes only.
Format
Choose the text color, background color, and opacity for the watermark. You can also keep the default settings, which work well for most images.

Where watermarks appear
Watermarks appear on the hero image in the Product Details page, expanded images, and downloaded PDFs that include product images.
Product details and expanded images
Select a product image to open the Product Details page. The hero image includes the watermark. The watermark also appears when you expand the product image.
You can open the Product Details page from the Product Gallery, an order, a linesheet, or a custom list.
PDF download
Watermarks appear on downloaded custom list and linesheet PDF templates that include product images.

Q: Does the watermark appear on all images?
A: No. Watermarks appear only on the hero image in the Product Details page, expanded images, and downloaded PDFs that include product images.
Q: Can I choose the example image when setting up my watermark?
A: No. NuORDER selects the example image and uses it to preview your watermark.
